About Alyssa Norbeck

Do you feel overwhelmed, anxious, or on edge? Are your usual coping skills no longer working for you?

Alyssa is here to support you!
Alyssa grew up in the Northwest suburbs and understands the pressures and anxieties that everyday life can bring. She is passionate about working with adolescents and adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD, substance use, addictions, trauma, stress management, life transitions, self-esteem/confidence building, and relational issues.

Alyssa has worked with a variety of age groups presenting with a range of clinical issues in individual and group settings. She obtained her Master’s Degree in Social Work at the University of Southern California. She has worked with clients in skilled nursing facilities/long term care, outpatient programs, and crisis management and stabilization.

She utilizes a wide variety of techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Exposure and Response Prevention. She recognizes that therapy is not “one size fits all”, and is excited to partner with you to meet your individualized goals.

Alyssa understands that it can feel vulnerable and intimidating to begin therapy, but she is passionate about making therapy a safe space where you can feel heard and understood. Her therapeutic style is empathetic, nonjudgemental, creative, and individualized.

Alyssa fully believes in the progress, not perfection model at Nikkie Evans PLLC. She understands that progress is not linear, and change can be difficult. She hopes to work with you to make the desired changes in your life and/or to better cope with life’s stressors.

Her personal faith and spiritual journey also allow her to provide faith-based counseling to clients.  (Note: We are proud to serve ALL faiths at Nikkie Evans PLLC. We respect all beliefs and only offer faith-based counseling upon request.)

In her spare time, Alyssa enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and dog, as well as gardening, baking, crafting, and kayaking.
