About Brooke Henderson

Do you feel like you’ve hit rock bottom, like anxiety is taking over your life, or like your life can’t possibly get any crazier? Then you have come to the right place.  Whether you are seeking support for a specific issue or simply looking to improve your overall well-being, Brooke is here to help!

Growing up all across the country, Brooke has moved from coast to coast and in between, so she understands how difficult it is to adjust to new environments and deal with unpredictable changes. She is passionate about helping children, adolescents, young adults, adults, siblings, and families overcome struggles, gain confidence, and improve communication skills.

Brooke received her Master’s Degree in Psychology from Harvard University. She takes a client-centered approach while integrating several therapeutic techniques. She is experienced in Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Play Therapy, and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for Trauma and PTSD. Brooke provides her clients with evidence-based skills and tools that people can utilize for the rest of their life in order to achieve their unique goals and create lasting change.

Brooke has experience working in several levels of care. In partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient settings, she worked with both youth and adults primarily struggling with obsessive compulsive disorder, anxiety, depression, low self esteem, and suicidal ideation. As a trauma informed therapist in group practice, she continues to help clients with those struggles, along with specializing in trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder.

In addition to individual therapy, Brooke currently leads a weekly virtual Women's (18+) Trauma Support Group.  The group meets on Wednesdays from 8pm-9pm.  It offers survivors a safe environment to be heard and understood, equips them with clinical skills to promote healing, and provides the support of fellow women who have shared similar experiences.  New clients are currently being added to this group.  Please contact intake for more information or to sign up. intake@creatingprogress.net

She values the therapeutic relationship and provides a non-judgmental and trusting space for you to share what you are going through.

As a therapist, Brooke is collaborative, warm, and patient. Using a combination of knowledge, encouragement, and a sense of humor, the experience she provides is a down-to-earth and realistic approach to therapy.

Brooke is passionate about empowering individuals to heal, grow, and become their best selves- whatever that might look like.

In her spare time, she likes trying new Chicago restaurants, reading, and spending time with family, friends, and her precious Pug.
