About Jessica Kolka

If you’ve ever found yourself trying to hold it all together — juggling responsibilities, showing up for everyone else, pushing through even when you’re running on empty — Jessica understands that place deeply. She knows how exhausting it can feel to look “fine” on the outside while quietly struggling on the inside. Her hope is that therapy becomes the space where you no longer have to do that — where you can drop the weight for a little while and just be.

Jessica brings a calm, compassionate presence to every session. She believes that connection is the heart of healing — that being met with empathy, curiosity, and zero judgment allows real change to take root. Whether you’re facing anxiety, depression, self-doubt, or simply feeling lost in your own story, she’s here to help you find your way back to yourself.

Jessica's background is as versatile as the people she supports. Jessica has worked in fast-paced inpatient and residential settings supporting individuals struggling with body image and eating disorders, school-based social work, and outpatient therapy, giving her a broad understanding of the many ways people experience stress, trauma, and transition. From teens struggling to manage school, friendships, or anxiety, to individuals struggling with body image and various forms of disordered eating, to women feeling stretched thin by the demands of motherhood — Jessica meets each person where they are, helping them slow down, untangle the overwhelm, and start rebuilding from a place of strength.

Jessica has a special passion for working with women in the thick of life’s transitions — especially moms and moms-to-be. She understands that motherhood isn’t one-dimensional. It’s joy and exhaustion. Gratitude and grief. Love and loneliness — sometimes all in the same moment.

For women walking through infertility, IVF, pregnancy loss, or the long, uncertain road of trying to conceive, Jessica offers a safe and compassionate space to land. She personally understands how painful it can be to move through cycles of hope and heartbreak, to sit in waiting rooms filled with emotions you can’t quite name, or to grieve silently while others celebrate. Therapy with Jessica is a place to be honest about the ache, the fear, the anger, and the hope — all the parts that make this journey so profoundly human. She helps women navigate the emotional toll of medical treatments, strained relationships, and the deep sense of loss that can come with infertility, while also gently supporting them in rebuilding trust in their bodies and rediscovering moments of peace and connection.

In her sessions, Jessica gently helps clients untangle their thoughts, understand their emotions, and build practical tools for self-compassion, stress management, and emotional regulation. She draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and a growth mindset framework — all while keeping therapy human, flexible, and real. She tailors her approach to fit each client’s personality, pace, and goals, knowing that healing isn’t one-size-fits-all.

Jessica’s clients often describe her as warm, grounded, and easy to talk to — someone who listens without judgment and helps you make sense of what feels confusing or too heavy to face alone. She believes therapy is a partnership: a space for both vulnerability and empowerment, where you can be fully honest and start finding new ways forward.

For teens, Jessica offers a space that feels safe — not clinical or intimidating. She helps them learn to identify what’s really going on beneath the surface: the anxiety, pressure, or self-criticism that can build up quietly until it feels unbearable. She teaches tools to manage emotions, communicate effectively, and strengthen self-worth — helping teens feel more confident in who they are and how they move through the world.

For moms, she creates a judgment-free space to talk about the parts of motherhood that don’t always make it onto social media: the worry, the guilt, the overstimulation, the feeling of being both grateful and utterly depleted. Jessica helps women remember that they are more than their to-do lists and more than the roles they play. She helps them reconnect with their sense of identity, self-compassion, and calm — even when life feels chaotic.

Jessica's personal faith and spiritual journey play an important role in her life- shaping the empathy, hope, and perspective she brings to her work.  When appropraite and requested by the client, she provides faith-based counseling to clients- thoughtfully weaving her clients' spiritual values into the healing process.  (Note: We are proud to serve ALL faiths at Nikkie Evans PLLC. We respect all beliefs and only offer faith-based counseling upon request.)

Outside the therapy room, Jessica loves spending time with her family, going on adventures with her kids, and soaking up the simple joys of everyday life — a good song, a sunny park, or a slow Saturday morning. She finds joy in life’s small moments and values slowing down and being present amidst the everyday chaos.
